Cat Griffin, Curator, reflects on the inaugural Quiz Night at the British Motor Museum.
The evening was a deemed a great success, particularly for our winning team the Aston Expressway Appreciation Society.
Tuesday 9th November saw 18 teams come together to Quiz! Arriving from 17:30 it was amazing to set our teams off with round one, a treasure hunt around the Museum. Teams got to experience the unique opportunity of wandering the Museum at night, following cryptic clues to find answers to the first ten questions in and amongst the collections.
From 19:00 we were lucky enough to be joined by Danny Hopkins, Editor of Practical Classics who took over hosting the rest of the Quiz in our fantastic Sky Suite. After a quick visit to the bar and a particularly challenging and loosely titled ‘Motoring Trivia' round, all the teams tucked into pie and mash whilst puzzling over our picture round on their team tables.
The evening was rounded off with our novel ‘Stop. Look and Listen' segment, where teams had to guess the car from the engine noise and identify the object or car from our collection. Everyone who participated said they had a great evening.
If any of the teams that competed at the Quiz would like to find out their position and score on the leaderboard, please email museum@britishmotormuseum.co.uk - make sure you let us know which team you were in!
