The British Motor Museum is to host the Great British Model Railway Show, a family friendly show which is one of the biggest model railway shows in the Midlands. Dedicated to model trains and layouts, the show will take place on Saturday 30 & Sunday 31 October. The show is sponsored by Hornby Hobbies who will have an exclusive Members Lounge for Hornby Collectors’ Club members.

This superb event will feature more than 30 top-quality railway layouts in a variety of scales across the eras and ranging in size including Kimble, an extensive 'O' gauge, 7mm scale layout, presented by local club, Leamington & Warwick Model Railway Society and Cowenna, a 'OO' gauge, 4mm scale layout depicting the China Clay industry in the 1950s/early '60s.

Visitors can 'have a go' with the Hornby Live Steam 'OO' layout, while fans of TV's Great Model Railway Challenge will be able to meet finalists, 'Team Grantham', who will be bringing two of their layouts that featured in the programme. In addition, there will be over 10 modelling demonstrations showcasing skills such as making realistic trees and structures. There will also be up to 25 trade and society stands selling everything from complete train sets to scenic materials.

Tom Caren, Show Manager at the British Motor Museum said, "We're delighted to host this show which is always popular with model railway enthusiasts and families. If you're a fan of these hobbies, we're giving you a rare opportunity to come and see all kinds of model railway layouts along with plenty of specialist traders”.

Free courtesy buses will operate on the Saturday connecting the show with the main line network at Leamington Spa train station. The Show opens to the public at 9.30am both days, with admission by advance tickets only. For just the cost of standard Museum entry, visitors can enjoy the show and explore the Museum too.
