Three new themed Saturday Clubs are on offer at the British Motor Museum for children aged 7 – 11 starting this autumn,  on 16 November, 14 December and 18 January. Each club has a different exciting theme, ranging from automotive animation, hands-on Christmas crafts and LEGO® brick building challenges, so there’s something to interest everyone!

Animation Stations takes place on Saturday 16 November, for future filmmakers aged 7-11! The costumed character, Bertha Benz, needs children to use their 2D animation skills to create a short video and tell her story to the world. This Saturday club allows children to meet Bertha out in the Museum, before getting creative and using the Aardman Animator app to make their very own short film that can be sent home.

A Crafty Christmas will be on Saturday 14 December, when children can make their own car-themed decorations all inspired by interactive tours of the Museum’s collection. They can create an automotive-themed Christmas card, a salt dough bauble in the shape of a car and a Christmas character from Lego bricks as a present to take home!

Brick Club - Hostile Habitats is happening on Saturday 18 January. Children can get creative and problem solve with LEGO® bricks! Inspired by devices built to explore dangerous places, they can build and code vehicles to explore hostile habitats and rescue unwary scientists from danger!

Claire Broader from the Museum's Learning and Engagement Team said, “We’re delighted to be hosting our brand new themed Saturday Clubs here at the British Motor Museum.  As well as developing children’s skills, the clubs also provide a fun and interactive environment where they can immerse themselves in the wonder of our collection and make new friends!”

The cost is just £10 per child for each Saturday Club, which includes admission to the Museum for 1 adult for the duration of the 1.5 hour session if they wish to stay on site. Grown ups, you wont get bored – we have over 400 vehicles to explore and a lovely café! To find out more information about the Museum.
