This prototype two-door Range Rover, known as Trinity, was launched at the 2018 Geneva Motor Show. It was developed by Special Vehicle Operations (SVO), the Jaguar Land Rover division specifically established to manufacture more extreme and unusual versions of models in the range in both their performance and luxury.
Designed to be the most exclusive and expensive Range Rover model at that time, only 999 units were planned to be built with a price starting at £240,000. Despite Land Rover cancelling the project before any of the vehicles were built, some customers had specified their orders up to an eyewatering £340,000.
Supposedly using the platform of the standard Range Rover but with some minor modifications, the car actually only carries across two body panels – the lower tailgate and the bonnet. It is possible that the financial situation of the company in early 2019, combined with the cost the produce the highly bespoke Range Rover model, were contributing factors to the project’s cancellation.
