J12 M40
British Motor Museum
The V12 Vanquish combines hand-crafted individuality and high performance, with the up-to-date technology. The car has an aluminium and carbon fibre monocoque with composite front and rear crash structures clothed in a hand-finished, aluminium body.
The six-litre, 460 bhp, engine propels the car to 60 mph in less than five seconds and up to 190 mph. In 2004 an 'S' version of the Vanquish was introduced, raising the power to 520 bhp.
This particular car was used at the V12 Vanquish's launch in February 2001 at the Geneva Motor Show. Vanquish manufacture continued until July 2007, when the last of the 2,578 produced left the line and the Newport Pagnell factory closed its doors to Aston Martin production forever.
