J12 M40
British Motor Museum
Launched in 1966 and based on the Interceptor, FF stood for 'Ferguson Formula', after its four-wheel-drive system. Also having Dunlop's Maxaret anti-lock braking system, the FF was the world's first all-wheel drive car with ABS.
The FF shared the luxury trim and Vignale coachwork with its sibling but with subtle changes; twin air vents in the wings, increased length for the new technology, and so on. Over its 5 year production span, only 320 FFs were built.
This series II FF was first owned by Ron Clover, Managing Director of Clover Brown Engineering in London. Clover was keen for his new car to stand out so requested his FF be painted to match the colour of a mango fruit.
