The Land Rover Wolf is a light military vehicle based on the Defender but with various modifications.
This is one of several Defender Wolfs equipped for a 1998 expedition to be led by Sir Ranulph Fiennes. At the last moment the expedition was cancelled, but a group of Land Rover employees organised their own expedition for charity to celebrate 50 years of Land Rover – the 'Fifty 50 Challenge'.
Land Rover provided three Freelanders as well as one of the Fiennes expedition 110s as support vehicle. Re-painted gold, it was nicknamed 'Goldilocks' by the team.
It was a success and the team managed to visit 52 countries in 50 days, raising £200,000 for UNICEF and other charities.
