J12 M40
British Motor Museum
A mule prototype for the Range Rover Evoque, 47 of these Freelander 2 based vehicles were made to test different drive trains and interiors. This example was built in September 2009 and is a second phase prototype.
With the looks of a Freelander 2, the rear body is shortened by 136mm to get the correct weight distribution. The fuel filler is an Evoque production type and the underside, floorpan and running gear are also all Evoque.
This vehicle was used for the management test drives to showcase what the final ride and drive would be like. Later it was use for switchgear and seating trials.
