The '75' was Rover's first new large car as part of BMW and replaced 600 and 800. Introduced in 1999, it was initially built at Cowley. The '75' had three levels; Classic, Club and Connoisseur, with four or six cylinder K-series petrol engines, or a BMW diesel.
When BMW sold Rover in 2000, production moved to Longbridge and the '75' range was quickly developed, with an estate, more sporting MG versions and a long wheelbase limousine. A Ford V8 version was also developed, re-engineered with rear wheel drive. During 2004 it also had a facelift.
This car, a Wedgwood Blue 2.5 litre KV6 automatic Connoisseur, is the first '75' which rolled off the production line at Cowley in April 1999.
