J12 M40
British Motor Museum
Manufactured between 1968 and 1976, the TR6 was one of the last of the traditional British two seater sports cars. The TR6 was styled by German company Karmann to bring the car up-to-date. Using much of the centre section from the TR5 - doors and windscreen - with the addition of new front and rear but with the old TR5 running gear, the TR6 looked brand new and gave BL a useful cost saving.
The UK version has a petrol injection engine whilst the US car had a carburettor. The TR6 sold well in the UK and was even more popular in North America, outselling all previous TR models.
This car was the first TR6 with a British Motor Heritage bodyshell, built at the 1992 Classic Car Show.
