The Dolomite range of Triumphs is complex. The original 1300 of 1965, was re-styled in 1970 as the 1500 with longer nose and tail. The original short body was also adapted to rear wheel drive for the Toledo. In 1973, the 1500 became rear wheel drive but in 1500TC form.
The Dolomite appeared in 1972 the new slant-four 1854cc engine. Enlarged to two-litre with a new and revolutionary 16-valve cylinder head, the Sprint performance model was one of the fastest saloons of the era.
In 1976 all models became Dolomites with a choice of four engines. In 1980 production ended and more than 500,000 had been made. This Sprint is the last off the Canley line.
